This last year I have made some new friends. I had just moved from Florida so I did not have many friends in the beginning. My school life had been great. I was getting good grades and was able to keep it that way. Now do not think that I had it made. I had homework like everyone else and had projects one and a while to0. There was some fun in school though. Field Day was great. We had a great time playing the other teams in games like tug-of-war, the 50m relay, 100m relay, and the 200m relay. Last there were some great memories. The fist day of school I made a new friend who showed me around. I also really liked my teacher, Mrs.Plantan. She helped me a bunch throughout the school year. I give a very big thanks to her. See you next year ZMS!

The Poem
The process put into this poem was very hard work. It was hard because I could not decide on a topic. So I started to just look on the internet and see what topics were recomended for kids. There were many like Summer and The Rain but the one that stuck out at me. It was snowflakes and it stuck out at me at because I have just moved from Florida and there is no snow there, well at least not where I came from. I used Iambic Pentameter but it did not fit for my whole poem. I also used near ryhmes, rhymes, and my poem also had a four line stanza. It was hard work but it is worth it. Here take a look.

Research Debate
In class we are making this huge esay on a persuasive topic. I chose The United States Needs a National Healthcare Policy. Some facts that I learned was that the Healthcare price for 2007 was twice the amount the price from 1990. That there are many who are insured but then because the bad economy they lose their job and since their healthcare was linked to their job, they lose that too. The Conference
Last week we had our first student-led conference of the school year. I had an expierence from conferences in Florida so I kind of knew what to do. But I was out sick that week with a bad cough so I missed some new information on conferences too. But when it was time for the actual conference I was very exited. The first minutes were just me and my mom. In that time I showed her lots of my files full of my school work. When the group before us left we went in the classroom to talk with my teacher. Thats when she showed my mom everything that I did not. I had such a great time in the conference talking with my mom and seeing her face light up when she saw how much I am learning.
